In 1963, the founding Mendicants burst into Branner Dining Hall (then all-female housing) and serenaded the ladies with an original piece.  By the end of the song, there wasn’t a dry seat in the house and despite the pleas for more, the Mendicants, having rehearsed only one song, beat a hasty retreat.  Since then, we’ve experimented with a variety of looks and musical styles, some we’re proud of and some we like to call our “awkward growing years”, winning the hearts of women and men alike.  And if you can’t find us?  Just follow the trail of swooning women…we won’t be far ahead.
